Community

Community Artists are artists who want to work on their own with private storage for their tools and work in progress. Community Artists have a reasonable skill level to be able to work in the studio with no supervision.

CAC provides training to the community artists so that they feel comfortable working independently in the CAC studio. Training includes how to safely operate the equipment and learn the studio production procedures. Community Artists have access to CAC's Fisk Studio during Open Studio hours.

Fisk Studio is set up with 10 wheels, a variety of electric kilns for pottery and glass and a Bailey auto reduction gas kiln. Community artists have access to a full palette of glaze at both cone 6 and cone 10.

Rent for the studio is $125 per month. Community Clay members receive 25 pounds of studio mix clay and 1500 cubic inches of kiln space as part of their monthly fee.

Firing packages are $80.00 for 2,000 cubic inches of kiln space. Rovin clay is available for purchase of 25# bags between $15 and $25 a box depending on the clay. Studio mix clay is available for $10 per box.

Contact us for firing packages and prices on glass kiln firing and glass supply prices.

Keep us in mind when you have a class you'd like to teach. Private studio artists and Community artists have first choice on teaching for the Clinton Arts Center. Click here for our instructor contract.

Community Artists will have first opportunity to rent private studio space when we move to our perment home on Michigan Avenue in downtown Clinton.

Our license agreement will be the same for both Fisk Farm and 115 West Michigan Ave.
